Qualifications Required to Become a Veterinary Surgeon

To obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine as a career, one must obtain a degree in veterinary medicine (Bachelor of Veterinary Science: BVS, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine: BVSc, or Bachelor of Veterinary Surgery: BCMS), followed by a postgraduate research degree. An alternative role in veterinary medicine is to become a veterinary technician, assisting veterinary surgeons. To qualify, one must graduate from college-level veterinary medicine degrees.
